School Uniform
At Oak Wood, school uniform is optional for all pupils. We recognise that uniform can be a challenge for some pupils and families; therefore, there is no expectation that it must be worn. However, if pupils choose not to wear uniform, we ask that they follow our general dress expectations outlined below to ensure that everyone is dressed appropriately for a school environment.

Dress Expectations (if not wearing uniform)

To promote comfort, safety, and respect within our school community:

  • Clothing must be suitable for a learning environment.
  • No crop tops or tops that expose the midriff.
  • No cycling shorts or excessively short shorts/skirts.
  • No offensive or inappropriate slogans, images, or symbols on clothing or accessories.
  • Small bags must be removed at the beginning of the day and stored safely; they should not be worn on the person during lessons.
  • If wearing Crocs, the heel strap must be worn up (not folded down) for safety.
  • No open-toe footwear (e.g., flip-flops or sliders) for health and safety reasons.
  • Jewellery should be minimal and safe (e.g., small stud earrings only).
  • Headwear should be appropriate for school (e.g., no hoods worn indoors).

 Uniform Expectations (If wearing uniform)

For those wishing to wear uniform, the following items are available. All uniform items are embroidered with the Oak Wood logo, and our school colours are:

  • Navy blue sweatshirt
  • White or navy-blue polo shirt
  • Navy blue zipped fleece
  • Navy sweatshirt-style girls’ cardigan

If you are interested in ordering school uniform, please contact the school office for an order form and current price list. We also have a stock of pre-loved uniform, free of charge for families, again please contact the school office.

Please note: our supplier will only accept returned items if they are faulty, so it is important that you order the correct size.

Payments can be made by cash or cheque only, along with a completed order form, placed in a sealed envelope clearly marked ‘Uniform’. Cheques should be made payable to: Oak Wood Secondary School.
